appearance!
Hazel-green eyes are set in a naturally pale face, not too big and not too small. Depending on the light they seem to shift drastically in shade, but truly, they are a medium green. But the focus of the girl seems to be her hair color. Jacklyne was born with a naturally red hair color, though it really borders on orange or fire. Every now and again she'll dye or bleach parts of it, but usually she'll just let it be as her genetics intended. Jack isn't the prettiest girl on the block, but by no means does she try to be. Her style of dress is casual at best and teengerly at worst, sometimes reflecting more rock n' roll-esque roots and other times neutral and normal. It isn't unusual to see her with no makeup on, in a baggie hoodie, going about her day in her comfortable Converse and no purse to be seen. Instead of a fragile and slender body, she opts for a more athletic one, but she's not in any way thick or visibly muscular. Nail polish perpetually chipped, hair sometimes brushed, she's nothing really special to look at. And sometimes she leaves the house looking like a drug addict. She doesn't care one bit.
personality!
Your average teenage girl, give or take a few traits. Attitude and hormones running rampant? Check. Messy and lazy? Sometimes. Jack is, though, a tomboy through and through. She loves softball and basketball, and has a competitive personality with no room for girly things like fashion or drama. She's either there playing with the boys or playing her guitar, and if she had a computer or anything of the sort, she'd play video games too. She's only worn one dress of her own free will once, and she regretted it by the end of the day. It was to impress a boy, and of course, she's very much past that silly stuff. She's experiences nothing but drama and thus looks at romance with a bitter cynicism. Racists and their targets are to Jack, as she is to happy couples. And preppy girls, to be honest. She thinks everybody, including herself, is very stupid and selfish. But all her negativity is no match for her apathy, but she's a teenager? What else does one expect from her? All she cares about is sports, her skateboard, and her guitar. Oh, and her dad's restaurant, which she reluctantly works at for her allowance. Jack's fairly close to her dad, though recently a stake has been driven between them due to the fact one is a teenager and the other is a homophobe with a gay son.
history!
Jacklyne is the youngest of two children, her brother being Sterling. The two were born into a house in absolute poverty, primarily because their mother had no job and their father had been driven off when the woman he'd already had two children with refused to marry him. While Sterling, the oldest of the children, eventually did go to live with his father, Jackie remained and was raised in the tiny house in the poorest part of town by a forgetful and unprepared mother. For the most part, she did a good job of raising herself, but she was often bullied for this and that by the "richer, prettier" kids. Instead of taking it, she fought back like her brother always told her to do, and thus became quite good at throwing the last punch. The little girl was a problem child well into her teenage years.
She had her best friends - Oliver, Alexander, Kyle - and the four of them were pretty much always getting into trouble. Throwing bricks through windows, ditching school, smoking weed behind her dad's brand new restaurant and scaring away customers... Good times. By the time Jack could drive, she'd had too many run-ins with the law to have her license. Her life didn't show much promise until her dad stepped in and took Jack into his custody. Behind the scenes, then nineteen year old Sterling had come out of the closet, and promptly fired from the family restaurant. He needed more help, and through the power of good parenting and father-daughter bonding (and the promise of money) he shaped a somewhat respectable young lady (ha) out of Jack. Behind her father's back, she does still sneak out to see her old friends again, but they seem to be turning into complete and real criminals while she sits at home, saving up for a computer or a new skateboard by actually working. She also looks after her annoying baby half-siblings, one a few months old (Cheryl) and the other a year old (Chester).
