Appearance:
The main difference between her human and true forms is her skin tone. Pale as a human, as a demon her skin takes on a gray darker than what demons usually have. She doesn't enjoy warpaint, like most of her kind; she is recognizable enough without it.Personality:
She's on the thinner, more athletic side of the scale, though she isn't overly tall. She's only about five foot four and, because of that, has an extreme fondness of heels. Her hair, while differing in length between her demonic and human forms, is a similar red color and her eyes are a pale green.
Hecate, quite possibly, walks the middle path for a demon. While she’s proud, she isn’t arrogant and knows exactly where her own limits are. She finds no pleasure in manipulating others into ruin and, if she does need to ruin someone, prefers to cause it herself, whether indirectly or not. She’s always been fascinated with humanity and has enjoyed her times on earth because it gave her a chance to study them and their different ways.History:
The only thing that screams demon about her nature is her bloodlust. Her temper, too, is demon-like, though it is far too subtle. She keeps her rage and hate bottled inside of her, slowly growing and unleashed in one confrontation, which usually isn't too good for either party. She handles stress the same way. Honestly, she doesn't handle either well.
Hecate is extremely impatient and restless. She doesn't like to be still and often is always moving, whether she's tapping her foot or cracking her knuckles. The motion doesn't calm her, but it does make her a little more at ease. She also has problems being on time -- she's always just a little late, mostly due to how she preoccupies herself when she does begin to get restless.
Her early life brought around another habit, which may be the cause of her restlessness. Thieving. Hecate is a bit of a kleptomaniac and is unable to keep her hands off of something that isn't hers. She has been fairly successful in the past, even with her impatience making her rash.
She has always been a fan of the arts. It could be a long-lasting result of her first summoning being in ancient Greece, but she's always had an eye for anything and everything creative. And while she might not understand the entire meaning behind the piece (she is, after all, more used to the art of gods and goddesses), she can appreciate almost anything as long as it's beautiful.
Speaking of beauty. As much as she doesn't like to admit, Hecate has always had an eye for beautiful people. Her entire knowledge base is centered around combat, theft and extortion (which she doesn't like as much as the first, but it's been easier for her to explore the human realm if she convinced her summoner to let her wander) and yet she's extremely likely to believe something from someone she thinks is pretty. It's not something she realizes until afterwards and she usually hated herself for it.
Hecate was born and raised in something akin to poverty. Not truly poverty, since she did have a roof over her head and she was surviving, but enough for her to envy those in stations above her own (which was quite a few people). From an early age she began stealing, usually to help feed herself and her family. This went on until she was old and strong enough to leave to find her own way in life. As much as she views the action as necessary, she will always view where she grew up as one of her homes.Face Claim: Susan Coffey
Her first summoning came at this time in ancient Greece. She doesn't remember much of her visit there (she only remembers the glare of the sun, the taste of olives and the feel of marble) but it sparked her fascination with humanity and art. She wasn't there long, and when she found out later that their goddess of magic was named Hecate, she couldn't figure out if she was named after the goddess or if the goddess had been named after her.
Back in her own realm, she began her thievery until she was caught. Instead of on the spot execution, however, she was offered a position as a spy in the army. She accepted, just to save her hide, though she did more stealing in his time than any. She flourished at most of her training (combat, not so much until she slowed down and stopped getting entirely frustrated with it) and by the next time she'd been summoned, she was a force of her own.
She went in and out of the human realm several times, never for overly long, but long enough to settle her curiosity of what was happening in the other realm.
